Summary

FrontPoint takes the top spot for 2014 as our #1 best home security systems company. Fantastic quality of parts and unparalleled service, combined with easy DIY setup with over the phone assistance from an agent give them the edge over the competition. Their uncompromising dedication to 100% cellular monitoring and quality parts at a fair price will make them very tough to beat in the future as well.

4.8

Commitment to 100% Cellular

The first thing you’ll notice that is different about FrontPoint is their monitoring plans. They don’t mention those land line or broadband options that other companies have anywhere. This is because they offer a 100% cellular service, the most reliable and effective method of staying in contact with your system. A system that can be beaten with the simple cut of a wire on the outside of your house like landline and broadband, is no good and FrontPoint is so ahead of the game that they don’t even offer these outdated services. This cellular connection is monitored by the RapidResponse monitoring company, a UL listed company certified by Factory Mutual and based in Central New York which also provides monitoring for the DOD, other government areas and fire alarms in NYC.

Customer Service

Next is their excellent customer service. Constantly rated #1 in the industry for customer service for going the extra mile, having helpful and informed staff and not creating a high pressure sales based atmosphere; they will work with you to find out what you want, and offering their professional advice, instead of trying to tell you what you need.

At FrontPoint they are all about working with you to get you exactly what you want and need. That is why every system is tailored to your house, with an over the phone walkthrough to determine exactly what equipment you will need and where to put it for maximum effect; this is DIY with a whole new level of support. They actually challenge you to find a negative review on their customer service.

Totally Wireless Equipment

Like most high end security companies, FPS uses equipment produced by GE Interlogix, makers of equipment which protects homes and businesses across the nation as well as major public and government installations. It is all totally wireless, offers crash and smash protection (if the signal is disrupted while the alarm is set, an intrusion is triggered) and is extremely reliable and easy to set up. Along with their no questions asked 30 day return policy and 2 year manufacturers warranty, even in the very unlikely event that you don’t like their service, you’re covered. This video goes over a few points on installing the wireless system.

Excellent Pricing

At first glance, since FPS does not offer any monitoring service below the top end cellular level, it may seem like their monthly prices are very high. However once you look a little more closely you’ll see that the much lower prices offered by some companies are actually for the less reliable landline or broadband connections and that their cellular packages are in line with or even more expensive than those offered by FrontPoint. They also offer fair prices on additional equipment such as sensors, often at lower prices than the competitors.

Alarm.com Integration and Home Automation

alarm.com features

Pairing their service with Alarm.com means that you have one of the best and most popular mobile apps on the market for your remote system access. It can do everything from checking cameras, arming or disarming the system, and sending you text or email alerts and checking sensors, to all your home automation needs including:

  • Thermostat Controls (Save on your energy costs)
  • Electronic Door and Garage Door Locks
  • Lights and Electronics
  • Shades
  • Solar Panels

No matter where you are, you will be totally connected to your home with the top rated Alarm.com app.

Making Things Easy

A home security system should be a silent protector of your home and family, not a burden that you are forced to live with. Thanks to the easy DIY setup with realtime instructions from FrontPoint consultants you will be set up quickly and ensure that everything is working and in the right place. You’ll also save the cost and hassle of having to book and pay a professional installer to come during the day.

If you end up changing addresses, renovating or just need to move the equipment for some reason it is easy as well as it is completely wireless, so you can take it with you or move it easily with just a peel and a stick. They’ll even go over any changes with you at any point in the future.
